MY SISTER AND ME
Down on the rocks we used to play
My sister and me on a fine sunny day.
Looking in pools for crabs and shells
Maybe seaweed and Limpets as well.
The sky would be blue and so would the sea,
When we went to the coast my sister and me.
Sometimes the steps up the lighthouse we’d go,
All 137 I’ll have you know.
When we reached the top we’d need a rest
For my sister and me it was quite a test.
The climb was worth it to see the view,
The sea so vast and the landscape too.
There was nowhere else I wanted to be
On a beautiful day just my sister and me.
Those wonderful days are now long gone,
But the memories will always linger on.
Bad health took my sister some years ago
But she’s still with me I’ll have you know.
You may not believe just what I see
When I look in the mirror, yes, my sister and me.
